Happy Scrappy Friday everyone! Today we have a great sketch done by Sandi on the SOUS blog! Here is the layout that I did based on the sketch! This is a photo of Isla from when she was 5 months old. It will be going into her baby book of her first year!

I used an older collection of Pink Paislee because it seemed to match her little outfit the best. I'm glad that I finally found a use for that measuring tape! I think it was just perfect for this layout. Please stop on by the blog and see what the designers have created! Truly inspirational!

Renee celebrated her 13th birthday this month and I wanted to make her a card that celebrated the young lady she is becoming. I wanted something abit more elegant for her this year and this sketch was perfect for what I had in mind.

Artful Delight Guest Design Spot

Have I told you all how amazing the kit was from Artful Delight? Well, if not, I'm telling you again! I LOVED it! I'm so happy to be featured on their blog again today! So exciting for me! All of the layouts that I've created from the kit look so different. I loved the Lily Bee products that I used to create this layout of Renee and Mariel. I also loved the chipboard title and glittering it. My whole room was covered with yellow sparkles by the end. I just can't get the hang of doing that neatly! LOL! We were at the zoo last summer and they were walking away from me when I snapped this photo. Those two really have such a special bond and it really shows in this picture. I used a sketch from Let's Get Sketchy for this one, because you all know I love a great sketch.

I did this layout again using the wonderful Artful Design kit and Aprils sketch from Scrap With V.  I'm also going to enter it into the Unique Crafters challenge where the challenge this month was to use at least one paper flower! I made a couple of those little rolled flowers to put on my layout. They're kind of fun to make and I filled them up with stickles to add some sparkle. While we were at the lake last summer, I did a little engagement photo shoot with Laya and Aaron. The colors in the Pink Paislee Prairie Hill papers seemed to match the photo and I wanted a fun layout of them. That's 4 layouts I have made from the kit so far and I still have materials left! I'm thinking a card or two in my future! :)

This is another layout of us at Easter this year, again using the wonderful kit from Artful Delight! I really love the kits their because of the variety of materials. This one is using the Indigo Bleu line. Very pretty papers and patterns and I loved the softer colors for Easter. We take our Easter baskets to church to have them blessed and then share the food that has been blessed with our family. I used a sketch from Sketchabilities to do this layout.

Fun

I was super excited when I found out that I had won a kit from Artful Delight and even more excited when I was asked to be a guest designer using the kit. You really should check out their kits! They're awesome! I used the April's sketch and kit to do this layout of Noah and Chantal. When we are at the lake, one of the things that the kids always like to do is go and see the cows and horses at various farms in the area. Of course, while they were busy trying to lure the cows over, I was busy snapping photos.

I Heart You All

Ok, well what you see here is the product of my madness! LOL! Every so often, I get this weird idea in my head that I need to learn/do something different. I kept thinking about the challenge at Scrap Our Stash, It was the February Leap challenge. I thought I should take a leap and try something new. So I found some very lovely flowers to make on the Bo Bunny blog and tried them out. They turned out pretty darned cute if I might say so myself! LOL! I was looking through my drawers and found all this glitter I had bought ( heaven only knows why) and thought maybe I should use that. Needless to say, I'm absolutely covered in pink and green glitter right now and so is everything else that I touch!  I brought out the stickles ( another thing I thought I should have and didn't know why). All the mists, Perfect pearls and inks etc. all came out. These are all things that I don't use all that often, yet have tons of. I just may have to start, on occassion, getting some use out of them. I also had a Martha Stewart vine punch that I had bought last year and never used, so I tried that out and quite liked it too.  I knew I wanted to scrap these wedding photos from my nieces wedding. The challenge at The Paper Variety was a photo prompt and in it the girl was holding a box with an engagement ring. Perfect fit with this challenge! Then of course, I needed a sketch because well, I love sketches. :) I found one that fit my photos at Scrappy Sketches. Last, but not least, off to find a title and again a perfect fit was found at Bird is the Word where the challenge word for  February is Heart! So there you have it! It's fun to try something new once in awhile!

Journey

Last Spring Break, we took a trip to Disneyland. It was Renee's first time there and she had an absolute blast. Well, who wouldn't be excited...it's Disneyland...the happiest place on Earth! I based this very loosely on a Liz Qualman sketch and used some Pink Paislee papers and embellies. I'm going to enter it into the Bird is the Word Challenge. You had to use the word Journey on your layout and it was perfect for this trip!

Renee was very excited when Nicole and Chris asked her to sit by their guest table. Her job was to make sure that everyone signed one of the river rocks. I thought this was such a unique idea instead of a guest book. They now keep them all in a vase in their new house. This one is going into Renee's album as a remembrance of a great day!  I used a sketch from Sketchabilities to do this one and more Pink Paislee Vintage Vogue materials!

Time spent with the kids on Mother's Day is the best gift ever! Still working on finishing up my 2011 family album. Then I'll work on deciding how to do my 2012 album. Didn't really use any kind of sketch for this one. Just did my own thing. Used more of the Pink Paislee Vintage Vogue papers and embellies. Really loving this line.

This is a layout of Father's Day that I did using a Sketch from Let's Capture These Sketches. I used some of the Pink Paislee Vintage Vogue papers that I had won before Christmas. I just love the colors in this line!  I found some butterfly stickers that I had bought ( I think from the dollar store). They looked kind of plain, so I stuck them on some of the patterned paper to give them some color. I think they turned out cute! I don't think you can tell from the photo, but they're kind of sparkly.

Love

I did this layout for a challenge at Scrapfit. The challenge was about the Simple Things in life. For me, there is nothing like the simple pleasure of seeing a bond and such deep love between a father and daughter. When these two are together it is very easy to see the connection they have with each other. Our Father's Days are not spent at fancy restaurants, but rather at home gathered together with the ones we love and that is enough. I tried a couple of new things on this layout, like using the Pink Paislee mistable paper. I really like how the background turned out and you can mist it in any color to match your layout. These papers will surely put my lonely mists to work!
