All About Me Reveal....Now...I'm Letting Go!

I'm very excited that I was asked to join the All About Me Creative Team! I've been working on an All About Me album, but truthfully, haven't been too faithful in doing it. Being on this great team is going to get me going to add more pages into my album. This month's challenge at All About me is to do a layout about Now! Pop on over to the blog to get a really good description of the challenge! There's also a really great prize being offered and you don't want to miss out on this:

I know I wish that I had the chance to win! I really hope you can come and join in the fun! I'd love to see what all my scrappy friends create and how they interpret this challenge for themselves. For now, here is the layout that I  created for the challenge. If you come back later in the month to All About Me, I will have a detailed posting there about how I went about interpreting the challenge! Now, I'm going to give you a warning here *(lots of text to follow)*. I had alot of jounalling for this layout, so I printed it off and adhered it to the back of the layout.

About 13 years ago, I gave up active teaching in a classroom, but I held onto all my "teaching things". Chantal was always saying that she was going to be a teacher, so I thought I'd keep all the stuff for her. Well, yes, she did become a teacher, but her path is somewhat different than mine and alot of the things that I had weren't useful to her. She did keep many, many boxes of what she thought she could use and this is what was left over. I struggled in what to do with all this stuff. I didn't want to just throw it out. I put alot of time and effort into making all these materials and planning all the units.  Plus, my other issue ( and most likely the biggest one) was  that I looked at it as a Rite of Passage. If I gave up all these things, then that meant I wouldn't be returning to active teaching and that made me sad in a way. Well, I haven't returned to teaching, but I did find a new way to be involved in Education, working with Student Teachers. It's a job I just love and don't want to give up. Well, as luck would have it, I had a really wonderful Student Teacher who got a contract, but didn't have many things to start teaching. I asked her if she wanted to come and take all my things. She was so appreciative and I know that she'll use them. She's a very deserving person! So NOW, I'm ready to pass all these things along to the future of education and know in my heart that they will be well used! It's like a part of me going along for the ride! NOW I am happy!

What a great story Char and how nice of you to help someone else along in starting their journey.
I have a very hard time scrapping myself as well and have always wanted to do a book on just me so I will have to check out the All About Me blog and see if its something that might get me started.
Thanks for the inspiration!
